COLLEGIATE STEP No.4 - Modern Ballroom Dancing 1930
THE LIFT OF THE LEG TO THE SIDE IN THIS STEP IS MORE PRONOUNCED THAN IN THE FIRST STEP
Man's Part
Jumping on the left foot, lift right foot out to side as in Figure (count 1).
Jump on the left foot without lifting ball of foot off floor (count 2).
(Note that the jump is made by bending and straightening the knee. As the knee straightens the heel is raised and the entire foot slides forward about an inch before the heel drops. There is an accent as the heel taps the floor).
Jumping on the right foot, lift left foot out to side as in figure (count 3).
Jump on the right foot without lifting ball of foot off the floor (count 4).
Repeat the entire figure.
Girl's Part.
Jumping on right foot, lift left foot out to side as in figure (count 1)
Jump on right foot without lifting ball of foot off floor. Accent heel tap as the heel drops to floor (count 2)
Jump on left foot without lifting ball of foot off the floor. Accent heel tap as the heel drops on floor (count 4).
Repeat entire figure.
