The Pathé Historical Dance Collection: 1920s-40s
The Pathé film company has posted dozens of its short films, featuring (mostly British) ballroom dance demonstrations to their YouTube Channel. It includes dances like the Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, Black Bottom, Charleston, Jitterbug and many more from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. There are actually additional films from the '50s and '60s, but as they aren't relevant to my Jazz Age focus, I've left them out.
Most of these are dance instructors like Santos Casani demonstrating a popular new step (or his own invention that he hopes will become popular) or competition dancers. A few are ballroom scenes.
The earlier ones are silent.
