Victorian Dance
"I was exceedingly delighted with the waltz, and also with the polka. These differ in name, but there the difference ceases--the dances are precisely the same. You have only to spin around with frightful velocity and steer clear of the furniture." - Mark Twain in the Territorial Enterprise
It will be my intention in this portion of my website to bring together materials that, I hope, might prove helpful to those who want to engage in recreating the dance of the 19th Century. Since I have been so deeply involved in various sorts of Victorian dance for over three decades, it only makes sense that I should address it to some degree in my online presence.
Most of it will not be content of my own creation, but will be my attempt to give people a convenient collection of already existing content with occasional additions of my own.
This site is under construction, and will take some time to fill out, but I hope it may eventually prove useful.
