Walter
has been involved in numerous aspects of public history
for over thirty years, and has participated in hundreds
of living history programs in the US and Britain covering
eras from the Middle Ages to the Second World War. He
has lectured on topics such as Victorian etiquette,
historical games, phrenology, historical costume and
the history of dance.
He
has appeared numerous times on the History Channel and
A&E, and has been interviewed as an expert on primitive
firearms on the "Modern Marvels" program. |
| He
is currently involved in organizing highly successful
"Vintage Dance" programs such as the "Jane
Austen Evening" and the "Avalon
Ball", and is the president and founder of
the "Lively Arts
History Association", an educational non-profit
dedicated to teaching history through the performing
arts. He also works as a consultant in historical programs
for organizations like Pio Pico State Historic Park,
the Banning House, the Huntington Library, The Los Angeles
Master Chorale, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and Rancho
Los Cerritos.
He
is president of the Los Encinos Docents Association
at Los Encinos State Historic Park in Encino and is
working the the State of California to develop a long
term interpretive program for the park.
