Note on the Cancellation of our Summer Ball
A note to our esteemed patrons from the Social Daunce Irregulars
For 25 years the Social Daunce Irregulars have taken great pride in providing the highest quality vintage dance experience, thrice annually, to our guests and patrons. The past five years has been economically challenging for everyone. This climate has been particularly difficult for small groups like the SDI.
Overall, and thanks to your continued support, we have been able to weather these financial difficulties. Nevertheless, we continue face challenges such as constantly escalating prices for hall rental (for both the dance and pre-ball classes), insurance and other necessities. While the economy is recovering, it is a slow process, and we are aware that there are limits to simply passing on these costs through increased ticket prices.
While we have taken some steps over the last few years to address these circumstances without sacrificing the quality of our events, we find that we must take a more drastic one. With regret, we have decided to discontinue the summer ball, effective immediately, beginning with this year’s scheduled event for July 13.
It is possible that in future we will be able to add this ball back into the rotation, but for the time being, the SDI Victorian Grand Ball will take place in the spring, and, as always, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Tickets for this year’s holiday ball are currently on sale. If you have already purchased tickets for this year’s summer ball, at your option, we will roll that ticket to a future Ball or refund the price.
Please contact the SDI Treasurer at SdiDow@tdasys.com or call the SDI Hotline at 818-892-3454 to discuss the options available to you. We would like to thank you again for your patronage, and will look forward to seeing you in November.
We have some new dances in the works!
