Jack's Cats Vintage Swing Band, led by retro-reed man Jack Malmstrom, return to heat up the most beautiful dining and dancing venue in Los Angeles: The World Famous Cicada Club.

"A sweltering summer's lust,
the heat that starts at dusk,
that's The Call of The Cicada"
~ from Jack's Cats' The Call of the Cicada

Summer is on, but it's cool inside, despite the Cats' hot swing. As the enthusiastic Mr. DeMille is ofttimes heard to exclaim: "It's gonna be swell, I'll say!"

You are invited to join us for an experiment. Walter Nelson, the producer of the Avalon Ball, will be using his rather large living room, with its hardwood floor, in a 1946 ranch style house as a dance studio for a bit of Jazz Age social dance. Dancing in living rooms to the radio or the gramophone was a popular pastime back in the day. That's the feel we will be going for.
