The Great War Gallop

November 17th, 2018

Celebrate 100 years since it’s been over, over there.
Point Loma, San Diego, Cal.

You are cordially invited to an afternoon celebrating the victorious end of the Great War. Join us as we recreate a WWI canteen complete with doughboys, dancing, and donuts. Enjoy live period music in a hall that held dances for soldiers and was used for Red Cross sewing and knitting during WWI.

Don a mask or your Victorian style "fancy dress" costume, 19th Century formal wear or uniforms, or modern formal wear to join in this magical evening of waltzes, polkas, quadrilles and the like to the music of Dean Mora and his Social Quadrille orchestra in the beautiful and historic Pasadena Masonic Hall.

Tickets are $38 a person.

San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park
Escondido, California 92027

The Battle of San Pasqual was a military encounter that occurred during the Mexican-American War in what is now the San Pasqual Valley community of the city of San Diego, California. On December 6 and December 7, 1846, General Kearny's US forces engaged a small contingent of Californios and their Presidial Lancers, led by Capt. Leonardo Cota; eventually joined by Major Andrés Pico.

Colonial Dance featuring featuring the social dances that were popular in this country from 1730 to 1799. Our program will consist primarily of longways "country" dances as well as a few cotillions (the predecessor of quadrilles). With dances of various skill levels throughout the evening, there is sure to be something for beginners and experienced dancers alike.

Beginner-friendly / Bringing a partner is not required / Historical attire is optional
