Colonial Dance featuring featuring the social dances that were popular in this country from 1730 to 1799. Our program will consist primarily of longways "country" dances as well as a few cotillions (the predecessor of quadrilles). With dances of various skill levels throughout the evening, there is sure to be something for beginners and experienced dancers alike.

Beginner-friendly / Bringing a partner is not required / Historical attire is optional

Join us as we commemorate the 172nd Anniversary of a historic battle that was fought here on the property of the Dominguez Rancho. The 1846 Battle of Dominguez Rancho in Dominguez Hills also know as the Battle of the Old Woman’s Gun. In this two day living history event you will be able to experience the reenactment of the battle as well as the many aspects of life in Southern California during the 1800’s and the Mexican-American War come back to life in the present.

The event is free. Participants are encouraged (but not required) to come in Victorian/Old West attire (especially the fashions of the 1870s & '80s). Kids are welcome to this public event.

Historical picnics, with all the trimmings, are particularly encouraged.

Our blacksmith will be in attendance, we will have music, a snake oil salesman and more.
