March 27: Cocktails in Historic Places™ The Kress
Cocktails in Historic Places™Friday, March 27, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mezzanine Level The Kress 6608 Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90028 www.thekress.net Please join the Art Deco Society as we venture into the heart of the glitzy, glamorous Tinseltown for an evening at The Kress, one of the most talked about new watering holes in town. Built in 1934 by architect Stephen Burrell as the S.H. Kress Department Store, Angelenos are more likely to remember this soaring Art Deco beauty from its more lurid incarnation as the flaming purple flagship Frederick's of Hollywood boutique. Kress department stores across the U.S. were famed for their architectural beauty, and this latest manifestation carefully preserved the original 1930s marble stairway, brass railing, ornate Italian-designed ceiling and Art Deco facade. Come straight from work or slip into something more Deco - - either way, plan to join us for no-host cocktails on March 27th for an evening with like-minded people. Cocktails in Historic Places™ is open to members and non-members alike and no reservations are required. Not a member of ADSLA? Become a member at the Kress and get a discount.
